Kim and Trevor are both from Mayo. They met in Galway during RAG week and started going out in July 2007 after spending a great weekend at Oxygen with their friends. They chose the lovely Rathsallagh House Hotel for their wedding celebrations. Kim got ready at the stunning Abhainn RI guesthouses, by the lake. Unfortunately, it was a rather windy damp day to start off though it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. Kim’s dress hung at the top of the stairs ready to be worn. It was a lovely princess style dress in soft pink from Ivory and Pearl in Northern Ireland. Kim got very emotional when she opened Trevor’s gift. He had been a true romantic and had framed the leaf that Kim had handed him at the Oxygen Festival to mark the great time they had. It was so thoughtful; the engraving on the frame said “Our moment locked in time”. Kim was just a lovely laid back bride, and had us all enjoying tea and scones while the driver was getting very concerned that we were going to be very late! Trevor got ready with the lads and even had time beforehand to drop into Rathsallagh to do a few last minute arrangements before heading to Dunlavin church. Kim embraced the wind for a quick photo outside before heading in the car to the church. The flowers in the church all complemented the soft pastel romantic feel for the day. As Kim liked to call it her “marshmallow” wedding! After the group photo outside the church, all the guests were welcomed into Rathsallagh while Kim and Trevor and the bridal party came around the grounds for some photos. Kim was a good sport and when a little ray of sunshine appeared through the trees, she climbed under the branches for a few photos. At the front of the house, we loved the stunning Autumn ivy which was a colourful backdrop for some close up photos, then the rain appeared and it was time to go inside. We went in to see the amazing dining room, where Kim and Trev showed us how to do shots – the alchoholic ones!!! Kim had joked with me the most important part of the day was eating the cake but it was Trevor who was the first to lick some of the icing! The cake from the Wedding Cake Boutique was decorated with baby’s breath and roses. After Kim and Trevor had some time chatting to guests we got the family photos done outside before it was time for dinner. Kim and Trevor are off to Spain to their favourite “beach” if they can bear to leave their little dog “Alfie” behind!
