Emma and Jay have their kids to thank for getting together! Emma and Jay’s kids go to the same junior school in the States and with the persuasion of their friends they eventually got together at a charity auction. With Emma parents originally from Churchtown, they decided to come back to Ireland and celebrate their wedding at the Cliff at Lyons. They wanted a relaxed day and both got ready there in the morning.
Jeb, Emma’s son only task was to make sure Jay remembered to do up his fly before heading off the ceremony! The girls were more preoccupied with watching the latest episode of “Pretty Little Liars” on netflix. But, when it came to the time to get dressed, they all got ready with no fuss and enjoyed helping Emma into the dress, even if it meant getting in underneath to check the ruffles!!!
They chose to decorate the orangerie with fabulous flowers and archway, which framed Jay beautifully as he got his first glimpse of Emma coming down the aisle. The ceremony was rather unique with the bridal party standing in a line beside them during it all. Emma’s mum Freda made sure to confiscate the kids phones so that they wouldnt start playing with them during the ceremony! After the ceremony the guests enjoyed a few drinks and canapes, while we headed out to for a short stroll along the canal. Emma and Jay braved the walkway for some scenic photos outside the chapel on the lake. We then headed inside the mill to see the fabulous cake and lovely favours on the tables. Then, some family photos at the front of the mill, and the sunshine came out. We then left them to enjoy chatting to their guests. I think they had an eventful time in Ireland, with a fabulous wedding not to forget a trip to Johnny Foxes, a must for any Irish national.
