Chereen and Damien met each other in a pub in Trim and eventually got together at Chereen’s 21st birthday party. After nearly 8 years together, Damien asked Chereen to marry, he brought Chereen to Howth head and got down on one knee in a big puddle. As Chereen says nothing normally gets past her, her words to me were “I can hear the grass grow”. But, Damien had really surprised her with the proposal.
At the church, there were flags with the family crests on the flagpoles. Chereen was right on time for Damien and the pair of them were married. They were serenaded by the amazing Vard Sisters. Rather than head over to Kilquade Garden Centre for photos, we spotted a pretty cherry tree in blossom and took the opportunity to do some photos by the tree.
Back at Druids Glen, Damien surprised everyone, especially Chereen, by playing the fiddle. He told us he had been secretly practicing down in the shed in the garden! We then headed out onto the golf course for some photos of the gorgeous Wicklow landscape. We loved watching the videographers CMP Productions flying their drone over the heads of our newleyweds to gett some amazing footage of them on one of the bridges over the golf course.
We headed back into the party and left the pair of them enjoying catching up with friends and family while we checked out the fab cake, 4 tiers of yumminess. We left them to shake their stuff to Dakota 5 and then head off to Dubai. An action packed, fun wedding, with plenty of laughs. I hope they get some time out to relax on the honeymoon!
