Nicola admitted she met Michael when she was very drunk and he was stone cold sober! She fell for his corny chat up lines. 4 years later, he proposed to her on Magheara Beach in Donegal and whisked her off to Antwerp to design an engagement ring. The pair of them chose Cliff at Lyons for their wedding celebrations.

On the morning of the wedding I went to photograph at Nicola and Michael’s new house in Rathfarnham. They have renovated it all themselves and done a great job. Nicola’s dad John gave them a great hand with all the guttering, plumbing and garden! With all the sports that Nicola plays including tag rugby (right up to the week of the wedding!). She looked stunning in her wedding dress from Ciara Rose Bridal in Celbridge. Her bridesmaids, Christine, Mary and Catriona looked fabulous in their sage bridesmaid dresses.

Anna, meanwhile was over with the boys photographing at Firhouse. She got a tour of the garden, and got to sample some of their homegrown vegetables and fruit, including red and white onions, lettuce and fresh strawberries and blackberries. The boys then headed to the Yellow House pub just beside the Rathfarnham church for a calming pint and the odd gin and tonic!

Nicola was on time and headed up the aisle to music played by her own pupils from her school in Rathgar! After the ceremony and a chat with guests outside the church. It was time for a celebratory glass of champagne in the wedding car before heading over to Cliff at Lyons. On arrival, we got to see Nicola’s old bicycle she used to ride as a child, propped up near the bridge. We walked around the venue for some photos with the bridal party and we even got a chance to stroll by the canal.

Back inside, we saw the awesome wedding cake, designed by Nicola’s friend Caroline from Wedding Cake Boutique. We loved all the natural decorations around the cake including wood and rosemary. All the tables names were geology related, Nicola’s subject area!

We heard the newleyweds were planning a honeymoon in South Africa. A perfect ending to a perfect wedding day.
