Julie & Declan met each other in work in Cork, where they are both engineers. On a work night out they had a late night coffee, a great chat, and have been together ever since. Declan popped the question after two and a half years together, and of course Julie said yes!
I was excited when I heard about the plans for their intimate wedding in The Cliff at Lyons.
The weather forecast for the day was poor to say the least with rain forecast for the whole day. As we arrived at The Cliff at Lyons miraculously it started to clear up and thankfully got better as the day went on. Julie got ready in the Carriage House with her parents and her sister. I had heard about Julie’s dress in advance but was still amazed when I saw it in the flesh, it was beaded from head to toe, pure elegance from Folkster. Levi popped over to take a few shots of Declan as he got ready just a stones throw from the little chapel where the ceremony was taking place. There was a lovely relaxed feeling to the day as the guests (numbering around 30) started to arrive.

Everybody managed to fit in the little chapel as Julie walked with her Dad over the bridge &¬†down the aisle to meet Declan. The ceremony was very personal with poetry picked by the couple and read by family members as Harpist Rachel Reid played. The guests held candles as Julie & Declan exchanged rings and said their vows. Declan’s wedding ring was a mix of his fathers and half of his mothers, remolded together, Declan’s Dad passed away in 2007 so the wedding ring was a really lovely tribute to his Dad.

Julie’s niece Evie woke up a bit late and so she missed the ceremony, she arrived just after with a great big smile as her happy auntie Julie watched on! The sun came out as we strolled around the grounds and took some shots of the newlyweds as the guests were having a drink. Declan even took out the guitar and serenaded a slightly bashful Julie as the guests watched on, we had a good laugh and finished up just as the heavens opened! The guest made their way back to the cozy Carraige House and got to see the beautiful setting for their dinner. Just before they went in to eat we took a fun shot with the sparklers as the sun was going down! They were entertained by John Forde The Piano Man as they enjoyed their dinner and we left them to enjoy the party. They were off to South Africa on Honeymoon!
