Laura and Ray survived the slagging from friends having met at the Christmas work party. They were together nearly 6 years when Ray proposed on the beach in the Gili Islands in Indonesia.
They chose the fabulous Castle Durrow to celebrate their wedding day as Laura spent her childhood days in picturesque Raheen village close by. Both Tom and myself drove up that morning to Raheen and popped into the little local shop beforehand and met the amazing Maud Dunne. We are not allowed to repeat her age! She is still serving in the shop – we couldn’t resist taking a snap of her before leaving.
At the house, we met all the family including Roxy, the dog, and Bella, the cat. We managed to get out to the garden to photograph with the backdrop of the new patio area and super duper stone barbecue.
We loved our two flower girls Daisy and Sophie who were so excited about the day. The family are keen hurlers and Tara, Laura’s bridesmaid told me that her partner was given a free pass to miss the church ceremony as he had a match. They later told me it was worth it, as they won by a hat trick.

Afterwards, with the golf and hurling backgrounds in both families, Laura and Ray were flanked by Hurley sticks, golf clubs, and even rose petals.
We followed the car to Durrow and took a few shots in the driveway before they were greeted at the door. We had great fun with a photo frame that Laura brought with her.009010011012013014015016017018019020021022023024025026027028029030031We popped in to see the stunning cake, well, croquembouche from French Wedding Cakes. It was lovely to see the parents’ wedding photos beside it. Our last few wedding photos were of the amazing staircase at Durrow and Laura had wanted a shot of the wedding rings on golf tees. We even had one guest bring Blu Tack for us to make sure they sat on the tees!
The guests danced the night away to The Bentley Boys. We hear the newlyweds are off on a tour of Dubai, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. An adventurous honeymoon.033034035
