Caroline and Matt told me they were together for four years having met through a friend. Matt whisked Caroline away just before Christmas to a weekend in the fancy Powerscourt Hotel. Matt told me he had wrapped the ring in his woolly hat so couldn’t put it on even though it was a freezing cold day. He dropped down on one one knee and popped the question. Caroline said yes!
Caroline was getting ready in her parents house in Kilkenny. They made sure that the weather would be good by having two statues of the Child of Prague outside in the garden. Caroline’s dress was stunning, it’s from My Dress
in Carrick on Suir and complemented the fabulous pastel green bridesmaid dresses. Caroline is mega organised and is a fan of sticky notes, so the morning was very relaxed and organised. She even had time to take a few snaps on her own polaroid camera. Tom went down to the church to photograph the lads. He found a lovely leafy country pathway behind the church for a few snaps. The church was decorated with fabulous floral archway by Carrick Flowers
in romantic pastel colours. When Caroline arrived we all watched as she persuaded her little flower girl under the floral arch to walk down the aisle in front of her and dad.
After the ceremony, we remained in hot pursuit behind the fabulous Beauford car and stopped in the driveway of Durrow for a few photos and then headed up to the entrance. We left the pair of them to enjoy a welcome drink and then we whisked them away down the end of the garden to get some photos with the spring flowers. Being a lover of flowers, Caroline was disappointed that the cherry trees had finished but we found fabulous daffodils and magnolia trees as a backdrop.
With quite a list of photos to do, we managed to sneak into the main room to see the cake. A tier for everyone, a chocolate biscuit layer, vanilla sponge, raspberry sponge and red velvet cake layer all made by 2 Nice 2 Slice
. While the guests were being called into dinner, Caroline got her last photo on the wish list, a shot on the main staircase in Durrow. What better way to end a day of photography. They only had to look forward to an evening of entertainment by The Troubadours
and a honeymoon planned for Albuferra after the wedding and then later in the year a trip to South Africa! Nice.
