Brian D’arcy and Barbara Purcell got engaged on Christmas Eve 2013 after Brian woke Barbara up at 6:30am and popped the question while she was still half asleep! She said Yes of course and says she’s found her very own Mr D’arcy!
The wedding was at the beautiful Rathsallagh House Hotel, which is just as picturesque in the winter as it is in the summer. (Shout out to all the very helpful & friendly staff there!) Barbara got ready in the blue room with her daughter Kelsey and all the girls, while Brian arrived a bit later and managed to get himself & their son Mason ready in great time.
The ceremony took place in the orangery with music from Harpist Olra Fallon where we captured smiles all round and afterwards we managed to get everyone out in the cold for a group shot!
Back inside the warm house there were lots of lovely little details including a wishing tree for guests to leave their messages & wishes for the couple. We decided to go out to the grounds for some fun family photos and had a laugh at Masons “Eww” every time Mam & Dad kissed!! As it started to get dark we decided to go out and take a photo with the amazing huge tree decorated with fairy lights!
Barbara’s vintage inspired dress was from Eden Manor Bridal and her beautiful 1920’s style bouquet was from A Daisy a day. Their advice for other couples planning their wedding is: Don’t Stress!… And we agree!
